I love you guys, but I cannot believe you said Hollywood Studios is your favorite. How old were you during your visit there?

hehehehe, I just went in the beginning of August (for the fifth time)! Hollywood Studios is my favorite, personally, because:

  • Rock ‘n Roller Coaster
  • Tower of Terror
  • Fantasmic!
  • AFI showcase
  • The Great Movie Ride
  • Star Tours
  • Studio Backlot Tour
  • The Magic of Disney Animation

I love the whole blend of classic Hollywood film and animation, plus the rides are super fun! don’t hate XD

You guys are so nice! Someone else would probably say something sarcastic and mean if they got some of the idiot questions & borderline rude asks that you get, but you are so nice & patient. :) It's awesome!

Thanks, Nonnie! :)

I try really hard to be nice in my official responses because I figure I don’t really understand the motivation behind the ask. Maybe they genuinely think that after two-ish years of running this blog we don’t know to double-check which characters are from Disney productions. Or maybe they just started following recently and aren’t aware of the whole special Friday deal. I just don’t know.

(I do say some really sarcastic things as I’m typing up my responses, but y’all don’t get to hear those haha.)

Did you do the free for all Fridays because AssholeDisney started it?

I kept coming across texts that would go really well with a non-Disney animated character, and it made me sort of sad that I couldn’t share those pairings with all y’all. R and I discussed how best to introduce non-Disney characters into what had been a formerly all Disney blog. We even asked our followers what they thought. (The answer was generally “yes, please do it!” and “it’s your blog do what you want!”)

TL;DR - R brought up AssholeDisney's “Fuck-it-all Fridays” as an example of how to make a Friday special work. So no we didn't start Free-for-All Fridays because of AssholeDisney, but they were sort of a model for what we wanted to accomplish.

Do you realize Anastasia isn't Disney, it's 20th Century Fox?

Yes, we are aware that the movie Anastasia is a Don Bluth and Fox Animation Studios production! Our awareness is in fact stated in the FAQ. All of the Don Bluth Anastasia posts are tagged “not disney” and/or “don bluth anastasia” to help minimize confusion.

Oh and on Fridays we post any animated movie character we want. It’s a part of our “Free-for-All-Fridays” doodlebop that we started a couple months ago.

(Also, one of the step-sisters in Cinderella is named Anastasia. And she is most definitely Disney.)

could you share with me your greatest disney parks experience? I'm trying to convince my parents to go :)

firstly, my personal ranking of the parks is as follows: 1) Hollywood Studios, 2) Epcot, 3) Magic Kingdom, 4) Animal Kingdom.

now then. Hollywood Studios had lots of behind-the-scenes/backlot tours/old Hollywood, and also my favorite rides (the “Rock and Roller Coaster” was FANTASTIC, as is the show “Fantasmic”!), Epcot had tons of great cultural displays and cool technology showcases (the “Soarin’” and “Test Track” rides were tons of fun, and the fireworks show was beautiful), the Magic Kingdom had great showcases of classic Disney films and Pixar (and Cinderella’s castle!!!!), and the Animal Kingdom was like a big zoo!

honestly, though, the thing that made all of the parks so wonderful was the fact that I got to spend that time with my family. it was actually magical. I would definitely tell your parents how much you would like to share your Disney love with them :)

also, if you have the time, I’d recommend visiting Downtown Disney/Disney Quest as well! Downtown Disney is really just shopping, but I think you should definitely visit the World of Disney store— it’s the largest Disney store in the entire world, and has all the merchandise from the parks, plus some more! (but be warned: Disney is expensive, and if you try Disney outlet stores as an alternative, keep in mind that they don’t have very much to offer…)

as for Disney Quest (also in Downtown Disney), it’s a 5-story building with tons of old arcade and new virtual games! there are some restaurants in there too, so you can actually spend the entire day there! I honestly can’t even tell you how many games there are in there. the arcade was overwhelming and just FUN, and the virtual games are super cool!

I hope your parents relent, let us know! :D
